Our client is a well-established rural advisory consultancy seeking an experienced Rural Business Adviser to join their team in East Anglia. Position overview
You'll provide strategic advisory services to farming businesses, conducting business appraisals, managing diversification projects, and advising on environmental schemes and grant applications. Your work will help agricultural clients navigate a changing sector and build sustainable, profitable farming operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct farm business appraisals and strategic reviews for clients
- Advise on farming structures and business planning
- Manage diversification projects from concept to completion
- Prepare subsidy and grant applications for clients
- Administer environmental schemes and compliance requirements
- Perform financial analysis, benchmarking and reporting
- Manage contract and share farming agreements
- Advise on carbon and biodiversity opportunities
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in farm management or rural consultancy
- Proven track record delivering strategic advice to farming businesses
- Strong financial analysis and business planning skills
- Experience managing environmental schemes and grant applications
- Excellent client relationship building and communication skills
- Resilience and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of current agricultural policy and subsidy schemes
