About
Our client is a national grain marketing and arable inputs co-operative, owned by approximately 4,000 farmers and supporting British agriculture across the UK. They're looking for a Farm Business Manager to grow their member relationships, drive commercial success, and help strengthen the arable sector.
Position overview
You'll manage member accounts, advise on grain marketing and risk management, and identify new business opportunities. The role combines commercial acumen with relationship building, supporting the co-operative's mission to connect British grain producers with major food and drink brands across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Grow member relationships and promote co-operative services
- Advise members on grain market trends and risk management
- Purchase grain, oilseeds, and pulses from members
- Sell seeds, fertilisers, and arable inputs to members
- Prospect for new business opportunities and members
- Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen member support
Requirements
- Strong interest in agriculture and the arable sector
- Sound commercial awareness and business acumen
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High levels of initiative and organisational ability
- Personal ambition and resilience
- Sales background desirable but not essential (training provided)
- FACTS qualification advantageous but not essential
