They're seeking an experienced MRICS qualified rural surveyor to step into a senior role managing key clients across the region. Position overview
You'll act as principal agent for a carefully selected portfolio of estate management clients, taking responsibility for their most important projects and decisions. This role combines client-facing advisory work with team leadership, giving you the chance to shape how the practice delivers rural surveying services. You'll work on diverse projects spanning farm business reviews, diversification strategies, renewable energy initiatives and professional valuations, whilst building and mentoring a sub-team to support your workload.
Responsibilities
- Act as principal agent for key estate management clients, building long-term relationships and understanding their strategic objectives
- Undertake comprehensive estate and farming business reviews, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth
- Lead diversification projects, helping clients explore new income streams and business development opportunities
- Assist clients with renewable energy projects and development opportunities, from initial assessment through to completion
- Prepare secured lending and professional valuations to support client decision-making
- Manage and lead a sub-team, delegating work effectively and supporting team development
- Generate new client opportunities and maintain a strong, growing client base
- Meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail across all deliverables
Requirements
- MRICS qualification (Rural pathway preferred)
- Proven experience delivering rural surveying work across a range of projects and client types
- Demonstrated team leadership capability and experience managing staff
- Strong client relationship building skills with ability to generate new business opportunities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines consistently
- Composed, confident manner with clients and colleagues
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
- Understanding of confidentiality and discretion in client relationships
- CAAV membership or qualification (advantageous)
