Position overview
This Senior Associate role sits at the heart of the practice's property sales operation. You'll manage the complete sales cycle for rural properties, from initial market appraisal through to closing dates. Your work directly impacts the practice's growth and reputation, helping land-based businesses and private landowners achieve their property objectives. You'll combine commercial acumen with client relationship skills, working both independently and collaboratively to deliver results and support junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Generate leads and secure new business opportunities through proactive market research and industry networking
- Undertake market appraisals, prepare fee quotes, and arrange property viewings with potential buyers
- Manage the full sales process for each property, including marketing coordination, brochure production, photography, and social media content
- Negotiate offers between buyers and sellers, acting as the main point of contact throughout the transaction
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their business needs and market requirements
- Oversee property marketing activities, liaising with suppliers and managing advertisements, promotional materials, and online presence
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell other practice disciplines and build relationships with other professionals
- Produce reports and written materials, including content for departmental social media profiles
- Assist with supervision of junior team members, sharing knowledge and supporting their development
- Contribute to business development activities, departmental planning, and company strategy
- Maintain accurate administrative procedures including time recording, billing, client file management, and compliance with RICS and GDPR requirements
Requirements
- MRICS qualification or relevant degree (desirable)
- Proven experience in a similar property sales or professional services role
- Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrable commercial acumen and business development experience
- Strong ability to develop and maintain client relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Presentable, approachable, and professional manner
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), financial systems, and CRM software
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Self-motivated, proactive approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritise workload effectively
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required
- Commitment to professional development and maintaining CPD hours
