Our client is a well-established agricultural business specialising in grain marketing and trading. They're looking for a Trader (to join their team and drive commercial success through strategic market execution and relationship-focused service delivery.
Position overview
You'll execute commercial trading strategies, manage regional barley positions, and maximise income through effective sales execution. This role involves hedging futures markets, driving origination with farm business partners, and communicating market intelligence to internal and external stakeholders to deliver value.
Responsibilities
- Execute commercial strategy and sales targets across assigned regions
- Manage barley positions to service committed tonnes and grades
- Maximise income through strategic sales execution and pricing
- Hedge futures markets to manage risk effectively
- Drive origination activity with farm business partners
- Communicate market intelligence to internal and external stakeholders
- Work within trading policies and minimum standards consistently
Requirements
- Proven trader experience or equivalent commercial background
- Strong sales skills with demonstrable track record
- Excellent communication, numerical and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications
- Valid UK driving licence
- Experience in agriculture or supply chain sectors preferred
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments
